The 20mm would take 72mm filters like my 28-135, and I don't think I would
miss the gap from 20 to 28mm.
What's nice about the 20-35 is that you can leave the other lenses at home
sometimes, and use the full 20-35 range, but a 77mm Hoya SMC Polarizer is
expensive.
Aaahhhh Choice...

Hi,
Or you can get a used older Canon 20-35L 2.8 and keep 72mm filter size, plus
get the best optics. I have one and love it - far better and more used due to
2.8 than I thought.
In any case - remember one thing - always get the best glass you can afford -
otherwise you will end up spending a lot more - trading and trying until you
are happy with it's quality.
L glass used is still L glass. And will most likely outperform any new but
consumer lens. Just be careful - inspect the lens or buy from a reputable
place if getting one used.
Or if not - get the 20mm prime - keep the optics and speed of the lens of a
higher level.
