Peter -
Very helpful indeed. Thanks for taking the time to write all that.
I have now shot one roll of Velvia at the advertised ISO, and have a
roll of RSX II 100 in the camera as we speak. In the fridge: Provia
100F; E100VS; Astia; and some Elitechrome 100.
Now I just have to find enough similar days to the day I shot the
Velvia to make a reasonable comparison!
The Velvia colors really ARE vivid, and I was pretty impressed with
the EOS 30 metering (I'm new to EOS and did next to no
compensations), although I see what you mean about its contrast - very
high! But I like the feel of it and will shoot it again.
As to print film, apart from the Royal Gold that I've used and liked
for a long time (also on my old FD camera) I've tried some Supra 400,
which I liked, and the Fuji Superia HQ, which I also liked. It's a
little cooler, wouldn't you say? Just bought some Fuji NPH 400, which
I'm curious about. You can see why I was asking about changing film
mid-roll!!
Thanks again
Ken Durling
