I assume these numbers are for focusing on a static
object. I doubt anyone would notice the difference
between .63 (EOS 50) and .51 (EOS 1n) in that
situation. But I can assure you there is a huge
difference in AF performance when tracking objects
moving towards or away from the camera. The EOS 1
gave me a dramatically higher percentage of in focus
shots than my EOS 50. My EOS 3 does even better.

Yes Bob, I believe it was a static subject.
You do not have to assure me about AF performance.
Nikon and Canon are always tops. I remember AF Tracking tests
showed the F90/N90s faster than the EOS1, and the F5
faster still. But that was before the advent of the EOS3 and 1V.
And yes, even without USM lenses, the F90 tested faster on
a running subject (pace was about 35kph).
