For some reason I dropped the first part of my email...so lets try it
again...

I took the liberty to add my comment without adding what all before
me have said. This is the way the Medium Format Digest works (and
works it doesin my opinion it is a masterpiece)but what I wanted to
add was my opinion on the 10s (or in my case the 10QD), the Elan 2e
and the Elan 7e.

I own all three of these EOS models.

BackgroundI've shot Canon T90 since their introduction in 1986they
are superb! I had a 10QD and an Elan 2e kicking around I didn't use
them for muchonly when I wanted to use my 28-135 IS and my 75-300
IS. A job came up my two T90's were being re-shuttered so I used my
Elan 2e and 28-135. I was so impressed with this combination that I
went out and bought a 7e and 100-400 IS.

My OpinionDO NOT BUY A 10S if you are going to use IS lenses. The
10S will not take an auxiliary battery pack that allows you to use
double A batteries. The cost of the lithium 2CR5's (or whatever they
are) will put you in the poorhouse. I am constantly autofocusing and
using the stabilization as I observe the world around me. I figured
that I saved enough money by using Double A's to pay for an Elan in a
yearreally.

The Elan 7e compared to the Elan 2e is as followsthe 7e simply kicks
the 2e's assthe 7e's eyecontrol works for me 80 percent of the time
the Elan 2e's worked 20 percent of the time. The 7e autofocuses
faster and surer. I believe the 7e's metering is better, the 7e is
much quieter. The 7e's auxiliary grip is cheaper. The 7e has built in
diopter adjustment. The 7e does not have that hokey silver finishand
here it comes kidsCanon with the 7e is FINALLY getting its flash
system to workPraise be to God!

The Elan 7e needs the Elan 2e's built in, near infrared, focus assist
this would bring up the eyecontrol to working 95 percent of the time
I bet! And the 7e needs some kind of data bank system where each
frames data can be stored on a couple of (otherwise blank) frames or
between the frames (is there enough room?) or on some kind of
removable flash cardcome on Canon get with it or even better yet
build a affordable 645 with changeable backs (Polaroid and digital)
that uses L Series Image Stabilized Ultrasonic lensesnirvana

Rightbuy a 7echeersjim
