I bought a second-hand 430EZ for my Elan, since it's the least
expensive Canon flash with a bounceable head and flash exposure
compensation.
And yes, sadly the Elan is not capable of sending flash compensation
instructions to an external flash. Luckily the 430EZ has pushbuttons
that let you set flash compensation that way.
