The most interesting part of the Canon webpage is the statement "A
commercial version of this lens is to be marketed during the first half of
2001." IS to be marketed, you'll note - its not just an experiment. Pause
for thought, those about to shell out significant wonga on a big L
telephoto. Just imagine what this technology could do for, say, a redesign
of the 70-200/2.8 or the 200/1.8 (perhaps that's why the latter wasn't
relaunched in an IS version)...
