<snip>|
| The Canon 25mm tube has a chip inside, the 12mm does not. If you mount
| the 25mm tube on a body with no lens attached and fire the shutter, the
| body "locks up" - the 12mm tube doesn't do that. How about the Kenko
| tubes?
|
| BTW - I think the chip tells the camera that a tube is in use and to
| correct for metering errors.

Does the use of this ET ever pose a problem with certain models or lenses?
I vaguely recall that there are warnings about specific lenses, but what I'm
asking about is a problem I ran into with my EOS RT. I used the ET25 with
either a 50mm F1.8 II or 100mm F2 USM or both (don't remember) on an RT body
and came back with several slides in series (some bracketed) grossly
overexposed, seemingly at random. After that I never used the ET25 on that
body again. Anybody know what might cause taht problem?
BTW, I am a new member today. I found info on the list at Toomas Tamm's
pages. I have been using EOS equipment since 1992, after insurance helped
me replaced a stolen T90 system. I currently use the RT and A2E, five prime
lenses and a 1.4X TC, the 28-105. and the 430EZ. I have my eye on just a
few minor upgrades as I continue photographing people, nature, and sports.
