Your reaction is a bit bewildering. What is wrong with a manual camera?
Especially considering Nikon's fine line up of manual lenses--many of which
don't have an AF counterpart. I think an all-manual camera makes a wonderful
2nd body, especially since it will have different characteristics than one's
all-electronic wiz-bang primary camera. This might be critical in extremes
of heat or cold.
The FM3A is actually a nice update to the FM2n. It includes TTL flash, DX
encoding and Aperture Priority automatic exposure but it still works
manually at ALL SPEEDS. It also reportedly has improved focusing screens.

This website has since removed the offending images. They had put them up
without links to the new equipment pages, but enquiring minds found them
anyway.... :)

Yeah, just ask all those Pulitzer Prize winning fools who carry Leica's
M-series cameras around with them. They should all get a clue about manual
cameras, eh? :)

The D1H is an upgraded D1 that will fire off 40 continuous exposures at 5
FPS. That's the kind of "prank" I'd like to have in *my* camera bag. The D1X
has 5 Megapixels and shoots up to 9 continuous frames at 3 FPS. That's my
kind of "nonsense." :)
