Pentax made a 40mm f/2.8 pancake lens in the 80's for
its MX and ME bodies. I think the main advantage of
such a lens is when it is mated to a small body such
as the ME. You can easily slip the body and lens into
your coat pocket. My Pentax owning friends tell me
this lens is highly regarded and, if it can be found
used, expensive.
