I'm afraid there's no PC socket on Rebels, and I think (but am not 
sure) there is not one on EOS7 either. You can use studio strobes 
on "slave" mode - i.e. they are triggered by the on-camera flash), or 
you can use a remote trigger (IR or radio transmitter). I use one 
myself and I'm very happy with it... Look at the Quantum site - they 
produce good radio triggers. If not happy with their prices, call me 
privately and I'll offer you a very affordable alternative (cheap, 
reliable & much smaller, but with shorter radius - it covers approx. 
10 meters).
