I just got back from a George Lepp Photography seminar and he had a picture
of a canon 2x teleconverter with a tripod mount. He acted like it wasn't
anything new. I come from a Nikon background so I don't know if this is
unusual.

The canon rep at the back table said the 1.4x new TC used the same optical
formula as the old one, it just has better light baffling and a water seal.
The 2x is a new optical formula.

As far as the seminar goes, it was rather basic. And he talked way too much
about expensive equipment (lenses that cost over $1000) I have expensive
lenses, but I'm guessing that most of the people in the room don't and I
really found that iritating.

Anways I did learn how to
1. Make a cool effect with moving water using 8-16 multiple exposures.
2. What to tell the lab when they push my film.
3. Cool ways to make digital panoramas
4. How to make multiple exposure soft focus pictures.
5. Hear how fast the 1v's shutter system is!
Peace, Rolland

Subject: EOS New 1,4x and 2x Extenders
I was just looking at pictures at the www.canon.de site and noticed that
the 2x extender is showing a little bit of tapering at the end. It
looks like it can accommodate a tripod mount, probably the one from the
200/2,8L and the 300/4L lens. There's nothing about it in the texts
accompanying the pictures. What do you guys think?
