The � 30� is "line of sight." It totals 60� from left to right. I've actually
had success without the ST-E2 being able to "see" the slave. I'm assuming the
IR somehow bounces off objects. I've had the flash behind the transmitter and
it worked. Trial and error.
Best bet is to swivel the flash head so the receiver is pointed as best as
possible towards the transmitter.
