Any price information would be appreciated. Will he has to pay the full price or reduced price by VAT? I have no any experience. Thanks in advance>> Gabor, If you take the UK retail price and multiply by 0.85106 you will find the VAT free cost to you. i.e. An item costing GBP 100 consists of GBP 85.11 and GBP 14.89 VAT. However, an item costing GBP 550 in the UK consists of 468.01 and 81.99 VAT. The same item in Germany costs DM 1488 - GBP equiv (1488/3) = 496 and with German VAT at 16% consists of GBP 427.60 and 68.40 VAT. Therefore, if you buy in Germany and reclaim the VAT you are paying much less than buying in the UK. I am sorry about this but it is true. I have recently ordered a Canon EF 100 f2.8 USM Macro lens from www.ny-camera.net and I use their prices (DM1488) against the cheapest UK price that I can find. So I would recommend that you purchase from mainland Europe rather the UK. I can be a patriot but not when it comes to saving money - after all I am Scottish! 8o) The lowest price I can find for the 28-135 IS in the UK is GBP379.99.
