I have just had a look in there and the 'switch' is only visible when the
'shunt' is pulled back for the accommodation of the CR123A batteries. It
would appear that when the 'shunt' is pushed forward for AA batteries, a
part of the 'shunt' pushes against the 'switch'. Only a possibility??
