Hi Dan,
Canon's intentions for the 5 are unclear at the moment. My understanding
is
that, at least in the U.S., the equivalent A2e has been discontinued
with the
arrival of the 7/30, but the A2 has not. Perhaps they figure that folks
wanting
ECF will go for the 3 or the 30, but those wanting the spot metering and
a PC
socket will take the A2 and not care about ECF. There seems to be no
indication
that there will be a successor model anytime soon--the 7/30 appears to
be the
closest to a successor that we'll see for some time.

PS: I have not yet had any offers for the 5 QD w/VG-10 that I'd like to
sell.
:-)
There are too many model numbers from Canon!!! So the a2e is
discontinued, but is the eos 5 still aviable?,even though they are the
"same" thing? I want it for the spot meter, but the eos 5 has ECF
right???, what is a 7/30??? The EOS 3 is over my budget. There are to
many variations of the same thing!!! AHHHHH.
Is the EOS 5 available in Canada, or are we lumped with the Americans on
this one?
HELP, PLEASE!!!
-Dan
