I just bought a screen from Da-lite, about the cheapest they offer at
$130. The model is called the "Versatol" and I got the 50" x 50" size
(maybe 54 x 54, I don't recall) in Matte White, which is what I was
advised to do. It folds up and has a tripod base. It''s not of the
most robust construction, but I don't anticpate using it heavily, so I
think it will be fine for my purposes. The screen retratcion
mechanism takes some getting used to. I have found that a quick sharp
tug is the trick for rerleasing the spring which rewinds the screen.
I've used it once, and was very pleased with the image quality - it
was really a lot of fun to see those slides!
If you e-mail or phone the Da-Lite people, they will tell you a dealer
in your area from whom youy can order one. I think the next model up
is about $199.
