  Well, it's not that infrared-counting EOS cameras *can't* shoot 
infrared film outright. There is some fogging on the bottom of the 
frame, but it would appear to vary somewhat from one individual 
camera to another.

  You could compose your images so that you could crop the bottom of 
your images and see if that works for you. My camera (an Elan/100) 
fogs a fair bit, and it annoys me enough that I'll probably buy one 
of the first Rebel cameras (sprocket-counting) for IR-only stuff.

  But really, I'd try a roll of IR film in your camera first and see 
if bothers you enough before going out and buying another body. Note 
that this only affects Kodak's HIE black and white IR film - the 
Konica and Ilford films, which aren't as sensitive to IR, don't have 
this problem.
