I use a Canon2x with both my 70-200 and 300/4 (non IS). If you cant afford
500/4 or 600/4 its a good option. Unfortunately I dont have a slide scanner
to show you some shots but the 300x2 is quite capable. I only bought the
300/4 after I bought a n EOS3, the AF is fast.
