I've got a Manfrotto 190 and it's a great tripod. I've only go the 3 way
head though, a ball is easy enough to attach.
I just picked up a Slik tripod, and likely will use it all the time now.
What I like about it is the way the hand lever is used for locking two
movements. That is a blessing in macro work. I prefer it to a ball head
actually, since it can't just flop in any direction, and leaving the pan
lock loose, I can easily move in 3 dimensions quickly and easily.
I really like Slik tripods...
