Hi Alain,

The "aperture equivalent" analogy can be very confusing for
people not familiar with IS.

It may be less confusing (but equally incorrect :-) to call
the Image Stabilizer function a FILM SPEED BOOSTER.  That
is, you can shoot at four times slower shutter speed at the
same aperture.

P.S. Did you know there is an Image stabilizer accessory that
can convert any lens into an IS lens?
