Dieter I grew up in Toronto and can say that you have chosen a great area to
go to photograph the Autumn colours. There are a few places that I would
recommend. First is an area called Halton Hills, and second is the Niagara
Escarpment. As for the time of year to go, that is really hard to say with
the way the weather has been over the last 5-10 years...the seasons have
changed a lot. I think you would probably be happier travelling with a car
through the Escarpment and many of the roads are small and winding. Some
can even be quite steep too. As for hotels, there are probably some rooming
houses in the area, and possibly some bed and breakfasts too. There is a
trail called the Bruce Trail the follows the Niagara Escarpment
(http://www.brucetrail.org/), and is very pretty. This site will tell you a
lot about the parks found in Canada
http://parkscanada.pch.gc.ca/parks/main_e.htm. The next 2 links are my 2
favourite parks in Ontario. Algonquin Park http://www.algonquinpark.on.ca/
and Killarney PRovincial Park
http://www.cangeo.ca/travel/Featuredestinations/April99/kellner.html . I
hope this helps you out.

Jay
