HI,

I own two loupes one Schneider 3x that cover MF 6x7cm and a Schneider 6x
asph that covers 24x36mm.

When looking at 24x36 slides I use the 3x for judging exposure, etc...
but when it comes to details I use the 6x that still give entire frame
coverage (which is important for me)

6x is the minimum if you want to check details but on the other hands it is
too much if you only want to have something "better" than just the eyes.

I heard that the Canon loupe (4x or 5x) and the leica 5x are also very good.
All are quite expensive but worth the money.

The cheepest alternative: use one of your 50mm as a loupe .... (not a joke)

Logan.
