Sigma finds incompatibilities with 4 lenses, EOS D30!

Japanese company announces repair program for affected Japanese customers...
  Sigma Japan has announced problems with four of its fixed focal-length
lenses when used with certain Canon EOS cameras (specifically, the D30,
EOS-1V, EOS-1N, and EOS-1)... Sigma says the following lenses will have
aperture control problems with these cameras:

*   20mm F1.8 EX DG ASPHERICAL RF,
*   24mm F1.8 EX DG ASPHERICAL MACRO,
*   28mm F1.8 EX DG ASPHERICAL MACRO,
* APO MACRO 180mm F3.5 EX IF HSM.

The company is fixing the lenses free of charge in Japan, and says that other
than the above four lenses, none of its other lenses suffer from this
problem. All four lenses are sold in the USA... The first three lenses
started shipping in the US from November 2000 to January 2001 - we're not
sure when the 180mm lens started shipping but it is currently available.

Sigma USA has yet to comment on news of the incompatibilities, however when
some of their lenses were found not to work with the Canon Elan 7 the company
repaired the lenses (and cleaned/checked them at the same time) free of
charge.
