Hello Maciek,

In St.Pölten I would recomment to take a look at the new
"Regierungsviertel" - lots of modern architecture there.

If you go by car and have time to travel around in the area
you should visit the famous Wachau with Dürnstein and Melk,
lovely scenery with white apple trees in bloom now. I spent
the whole day in the area today photographing the landscape.

I would suggest going from St.Pölten to Krems (30km via
highway) and then along the Danube to Dürnstein with a famous
ruine from where you have a great look down to the river.
Continueing along the Danube you pass scenic little villages
like Spitz an der Donau. You can cross the Danube again at Melk
or continue some kilometers until Pöchlarn or even Ybbs,
depending on how much time you have available. To return to
St.Pölten you can either choose the highway or take the route
along the other bank of the Danube back to Krems.

A very good and detailed map is available at:

You have to install a plugin but it is worth the download if you
don't have a map already.
