You need to ask yourself what you want to do that
would require two bodies, and what you want to do that
the EOS will handle but the 7 might not.

Do you want to frequently shoot 2 different films of
the same subjects? If so, then a single 3 won't be
nearly as useful as 2 7s. Ditto if you want to have 2
different lense always available (but switching lenses
on one body would be far most cost effective.

Do you want to shoot fast action sports? Then the
faster speed of the 3 + booster will get you more
correctly focused photos than will two 7s.

If weatther sealing is really important, the 3 is far
better than the 7, I believe (as is a used 1n).

If you just want a 2nd body as a spare, in case
something breaks, I wouldn't buy an Elan 7. None of my
EOS bodies has ever brokent. Buy something cheaper
as a backup, and buy it used.

Or, as someone else suggested, unless you REALLY need
the features of the 3, or really need 2 bodies, buy
one Elan 7 and spend the extra money on a lens, film,
or a photo clas. Any of witch will make a bigger
difference in most people's photography than will a
second body.
