The 28-70/2.8 L, 70-200/2.8 L, and the 70-200/4 L deliver results comparable
to prime lenses in terms of sharpness and contrast. The advantage the primes
have are lighter weight and less distortion. Also, most camera bags aren't
designed with the pro bodies and zooms in mind.
