Hello all Before you flame me, be kind enough to read the post first. I own a Canon EF 80-200/2.8 L, but 200mm is a bit short for my needs. I'm considering upgrading to the 70-200/2.8 + 1.4x or 2x teleconverter. With the 2x, I would have a 400/5.6. This is where the 100-400 IS comes into play. Less versatile below 400mm, since the 70-200/2.8 is much brighter at these focals, but more convenient due to the IS. At this point I started dreaming about the much-wanted 70-200/2.8 IS. I've read dozen of posts about this lens and suddenly I just remembered: Maybe we should not ask ourselves when will Canon release it, but when will Nikon release the 80-200 VR. The day Nikon does it, Canon will surely follow. So, does anyone know if this lens is in Nikon's plans? If you could also give me some advise on my dilemma, it would be greatly appreciated.
