Robert,
I had same point of view that you have but suddenly I did not resist the
temptation and I got a new D30. My pics are not anymore better or worse than
before. Just I avoid the processors and I get at home inmediatly my
pictures, up to now with no change. Mind that this is true up to 20x30 cm.
In bigger sizes regular photography is still the king (or have I say the
queen, excuse me). About manipulation it has been also possible in the
darkroom and why not if it is creative! Main problems are cost and small
size of captors but wait and see..
