I have always understood that the IS works on a tripod with the big Canon
IS tele's (400f2.8, 600f4).
My manual for the 600f4 IS says (p. E-12) to turn IS off when using these
lenses on a tripod. Do your maunals say that. Canon support tells me it
must be a misprint , but I want to make sure I don't have an older version
of this lens.
Also, those of you who own this lens, does your lens foot have a 3/8ths and
a 1/4 inch stud tap?
