I am considering the 180 macro. I assume this lens loses speed as focus approachs 1:1. Does anyone know what the effective aperature is at life size? Does the effective focal length change also? I read that the AF speed is slow but I am not sure that is a problem with macro work. Usually MF is better anyway in this situation. Thanks for your help.
