Hi Martinjn,
Perhaps you could tell your friend that the 550EX is supposed to
be capable of wireless flash on a Type B body like the EOS 1N.
Since I only have a single 550EX at present, I cannot vouch how
well the Canon Wireless flash system works.
According to the 550EX manual, these features are available:
1) Master control with 550EX or ST-E2
2) Four channels, 3 groups (A, B or C) in each channel
3) Slave output ratio can be varied from a 550EX Master Unit
4) Light output can also be set independently on each slave
5) Wireless stroboscopic flash
Apparently, no TTL automation, no ATTL preflash metering.
Do you think the 550EX is competitive with the Metz wireless
system, even for a type B body?
Cheers
