That is/was Klaus Schroif's Photozone site. (Somebody
else has already posted the URL) I think Chausser
d'Images complained about the copyrighted tests being
posted first, and all of the published tests came down
shortly after that. A great loss.

Thank goodness I printed the bulk of the tests when I
had the chance ('98). That's a good resource for
buying used lenses, especially third party ones.

I think the tables that list the various features of
each model of SLR amongst the various manufacturers is
the most useful part of the site.

This is a wholly subjective thing, based on a bunch of
unscreened users with widely varying degrees of
experience, and next to useless in making buying
decisions. A person used to Aunt Minnie's P&S can post
a review next to a super-nit-picky pro-wannabee, which
renders the results next to meaningless.

At least with the tests you could more or less count
on the same equipment and technicians being used at
each magazine to generate objective numbers that would
result in fair comparisons between optics. No such
luck with the new system. It's not copyrighted, but
it's a free-for-all of little real worth.
