Hi David,
Chieh Cheng (hi CC :-) suggests a cord with 3.5mm connectors
but using two 2.5-to-3.5mm plug adapters. Others have suggested
cutting the RS60E-3 cable and splicing in a pair of 3.5mm
connectors so that a 3.5mm extension cord could be used.
The 43-2003 cable is already wired with 2.5mm, and was meant
as an extension cord for cellular phone microphones. Fewer parts
means lower cost, fewer bits to lose when shooting, and fewer
connections to fail just at the "decisive moment" [Murphy's law].
