As always, you have to answer the question, "What can't I do with the
equipment I have?"

These cameras have very widely differing capabilities:

> Rebel Kiss
Find a Rebel G, small, light, modern!!!

> 650
Heavy, solid, uses no power when doing loooong exposures, early
autofocus technology, probably OK with 50mm f/1.8

> Elan
Rear-mounted quick-control dial for the masses, very quiet due to
original belt silent-drive. Good manual exposure (due to QCD).

> Elan II ($20 more)
Even better than the Elan, but you've got to like silver. Has EX flash
technology for E-TTL support.

Heavy, solid, uses no power when doing loooong exposures, early
autofocus technology, probably OK with 50mm f/1.8. Much more capable
(more modes) than a 650. Faster x-synch and top shutter speed than the
630. Good for things like astrophotography!

Heavy, solid, uses no power when doing loooong exposures, early
autofocus technology, probably OK with 50mm f/1.8. Much more capable
(more modes) than a 650 (similar to the 630). Pellicle mirror lets you
view through the lens all the time and reduces the time lag between
pressing the shutter release and getting a picture. Good for sports
photography if you can't afford a 1n RS!
