You might have that kind of selection in New York, but I am in Virginia.
There's exactly one rink about 1/2 hour from my house with the ice still up,
and I know from experience that shooting there (BAD lighting) at f/5.6 (the
result of my 300mm f/4 L + 1.4X TC) even with fast film is very
disappointing. Hockey players don't take too kindly to flash photography,
and I can't say that I blame them.
I can wait until October. ;-)
