For some reason the carry distance calculations on my 550ex (ETTL) are a
full stop farther than I get when I do the calculation. I have been
observing the distance scale with various f stop settings and I get readings
that suggest a guide number in the 240 range (guide number for the 550EX is
180 at 105mm).
ISO is 100 and no flash comp is set on the flash or body. Needless to say,
the flash exposure confirmation light confirms that the flash is not
carrying as far as the distance scale would indicate (usually a full stop
less).
Does anyone else experience this?
