Hello all,
I am quite confused on the options for external power source for
the 550 EX flash, hopefully some of you could help me. I would
need a battery pack which will give me around 10 36exp rolls of
flashes.
Canon USA lists two external supplies for the 550EX:
1. Canon Compact Battery Pack CP-E2 Size-AA alkaline LR6 (AM-3)
batteries (9 V) x 6
2. Canon Transistor Pack E Battery Magazine TP with size-C
alkaline LR14 (AM-2) batteries (9 V) x 6 Ni-Cd Pack TP (NR-SC Ni-
Cd batteries x 6 in sealed pack)
B&H sells the 2nd one for $230 at

I checked Quantum's web site, they list a few of their models
compatible with the 550EX, does anyone know how do these hold up
against the Canon one? They seem to be more expensive (at least
the Quantum Turbo $345, and the Quantum Turbo Z $300) than the
Canon Transistor Pack E. Or is more like the QB1+ ($175)?
Thanks for your input,
Attila
