Yes,
but the f23 group is far more exclusive and MUCH more secretive.
You won't find any of it's members listed on any current search engine
... yet f23 predates Canon EOS by more than a century.
ON TOPIC ... the point of raising it at all was that this was just the
latest in a series of threads ... recurring every so often ...
"accuracy" of certain intermediate "f-numbers" but never, NEVER, the
most obvious one. The old "doubling" excuse is fine ... but as
noted, it breaks down everywhere else (including f45) so it can't
really be that strong a motivation. Ultimately it does not matter one
jot what aperture is displayed as long as it works ...

Until you know WHY f23 has been systematically purged from the text
books you will have been excluded from one of the biggest cover-ups in
history. The associations are too strong. It is much less traumatic
to say "f22" knowing it is wrong than to insist on accuracy and
compound the crime ...
