Well, it depends at least on the weather :-)
Normally, there are two trainings on Friday, one hour each. In the
free practices laps are not limited, so you should be able to see a
lot of cars on the track. At least the top teams (the backmarkers
might have technical problems which stop them from testing).

> Any tips on technique, tools and timing given the speed of these cars?

In the print issue of F1 Racing the first two or three double pages
always show the best shots from the last GP. Theres always a short
explanation added with f-stop, lens, and other tech info.

But unless youre not a pro with an accreditation, I think you will
not be able to get to the track close enough. Most of the pros in F1
use the long tele lenses like 4/600, sometimes even with 1.4xTC. Even
the pros have sometimes big problems to get to good spots as they are
restricted and only allowed for TV.

For example some pros only get accreditations for the track and not
for the pit lane and vice versa.

So, you should expect to find it difficult to get good shots (close
ups of the cars).

Hope this helps. Best regards,

Marco
