It was the Sally Hansen non-acetone formula that they
sell at drugstores, with the overpowering lemon smell.
(I'm not sure what is in this, but if it is designed
to dissolve lacquers I'm sure it's nasty.)It did etch
the plastic a little bit, it has lost its gloss.

In rec.models.scale, some folks are reporting that
normal household cleaners like Formula 409, Simple
Green, and Pine-Sol will remove paint from plastic
models (polystyrene) without damaging the plastic. I
know Pine-Sol works.
