I use the banned UV-filter for "protection". I got several frames with
reduced contrast due to flare. I was shooting backlight, but at an angle
trying to stop the "unnusable" light with my hand. As I can't have a
bigger hand I think I beter buy the hood.
Here at home I had been using a long piece of black cardboad for that
purpose, but I couldn't take that in the plane :-) ;-) (big piece of
70x120cm) I expect the hood to be a bit more handy... LOL :-)
