Hi Pablo,
The REBEL 2000 has 7 autofocus points like the Elan 7E. The
AF assist beam does not light up for all the 7 points on my
Elan 7E with some Canon Speedlites, like the 430EZ and even
the 550EX.
Can someone on this list verify for Pablo if the 420EX or
540EX AF assist beam is FULLY compatible with the REBEL 2000?

P.S. ETTL is not always the best mode. The Blinking Eye ETTL
syndrome (BEETTL) can ruin your pictures. Even on a G1:
