I believe this is only true for the older version. The new 2x and new 1.4x have the same price. This is a bit strange as the new 2x has more elements then the 1.4x, is very likely of the same built quality as the 1.4x, and is a new design. Makes me wonder how to justify previous reasonings why the old 1.4x was more expensive then the old 2x?! By the way, it seems that the new 2x is a new design whereas the new 1.4 'just' added more protection and flare reduction.
