I've read more than once that Canon upgraded the body
to improve AF speed at some point during it's
production run. I've specifically asked Canon, and
they basically refuse to answer the question. There
is no upgrade available, as far as I can determine.
You either buy a newer body with the faster AF (if it
exists), or you don't.
