Ken,

I've still got my Pentax Spotmatic II. (Around 30 years old now).
I hadn't used it much for a long time, then I bought a Yashica compact.
The disadvantages of full auto with unknown aperture and speed (both too
slow), compared with the disadvantages of the Pentax, M42 lens mount, manual
focus and manual, but controlled, exposure eventually made me think 'I want
an auto-focus, auto-exposure SLR'.

I bought a 50e, and now a 3.
Perhaps I'll put a roll through the SPII again for old times sake.

The standard 55mm f1.8 lens is a cracker, although my Hanimex 200mm f3.5 was
always my favourite.

Cheers

keith
