With the Photo Trekker you can keep the 17-35 on the camera, and you'll have
plenty free space in the bag, even with the other gear you mentioned. You
didn't mention film, batteries, lens cleaners or anything, but I assume
you'll want to put these in there, too. Those empty compartments tend to
fill up real soon...

If you really want  a backpack the Tamrac Expedition Series is superb. If
you do not need all the room, consider the Domke Outpack.  It has a built-in
aluminum frame and is the only backpack that allows you to access your
equipment without laying the backpack down flat.  I had one and loved it.
Only gave it up because I needed more room so I wound up with the Tamrac
787.  Big bag but ideal for my equipment.  Just wish I was taller.
