Hello all!

"If you could pick one of these which one would it be? Why?

I'm trying to decide myself and I've heard stories about the 17-35mm
distortion problems. (I know it will at 20 and below but what about the rest
of the range?) I'd like to hear from people that have or those that have
used the lens and their experiences.

Wonder if Canon will do away with any problems with the new 16-35mm? ; )"

Justin,

The 20-35 was my main zoom with EOS 1 and after EOS 1N. When moving to EOS1V
I changed too to 17-35. My opinion based on the use of both zooms: I believe
sharpness of old was slightly better, mainly at 20. Distortion was slightly
worse but not so much. USM is more convenient on 17-35. Flare and vignetting
appears as to be quite similar but the three milimeters more in the wide
side are really interesting. I use less often the 14mm but when using the
D-30 where is really convenient. So if you have a 20-35 it is not so
necessary to change. Starting from none is more convinient to get a 17-354
as used price of 20-35 is not particularly cheep and, finally, 17-35 is more
equilibrated.

Just MHO

Kind regards

Flix
