Aahhhh, grasshopper, but you don't USE two flash brackets. You use a Lepp
dual flash bracket (http://www.saundersphoto.com/html/body_macro.htm), or
Bogen's similar 3278 macro bracket
(http://www02.bhphotovideo.com/default.sph/FrameWork.class?FNC=ProductActivator__Aproductlist_html___92402___BO3278___REG___CatID=0___).
Even neater is the Novoflex Macro Flash "Auto-Duo-Flash" and Macro Flash
Set (see http://www.novoflex.com/html/products.htm) which are actually more
versatile, but more expensive. Until recently Novoflex was hard to get in
the USA (distributor issues) but at the most recent PMA convention (Feb
2001) HP Marketing announced they were the official USA distributors so
availability should be easing.
Finally, and a bit OT, at the same convention Minolta showed two new macro
flash items, a ring flash and a dual head flash, both of which were
elegantly designed. Too bad other manufacturers don't take a page from
their book.
