I have been using the Vivitar 100mm f/3.5 macro for a few year and I like it a
lot. It has 1:2 macro range, 1:1 with include life size adapter. If you can find
a copy the 6/98 issue of Popular Photography gave the lens a really good review.
The lens body is all plastic which makes it very light, but also it gives
somewhat of a cheap feel. However, the lens takes great pictures. Plus it only
costs a fraction of most macros.
