"This lens doesn't get discussed here much, yet it seems to be good
enough for Canon to call it an L series lens. Lepp's new "Beyond the
Basics Vol. II" has a bunch of nice shots with it. Do many of you own
one? What are its strengths and weaknesses? Do you use it with a TC?
Think it's a good candidate for ISization?

I had one and I only can say it was a wanderfull zoom. Of course you cannot
expect from such a lens the same output that a 70-200 f:2,8 lens. You will
pay the loss of perfection due to the so big extention. But do not forget it
is a L lens and therephore the results will be as you can expect. I was
happy with this lens and I traded it only to get a 100-400 IS. But this is
another story. If you can get it you anly be but very happy with it.
